How to add a chat to a clinic website
This is the shortest step in the whole process — and the one clinics stop at most often. So here it is in full, for every common platform.
What exactly goes in
One script tag carrying your integration key. It goes just before the closing body tag — at the very end of the page, so it never slows the site down.
The same code goes on every page and changes no layout: a chat button appears in the bottom-right corner, nothing else.
Where it goes on each platform
The principle is identical everywhere — find the field for footer code, meaning scripts before the closing body tag.
- WordPress — the WPCode or Insert Headers and Footers plugin, Footer field
- Tilda — Site Settings, More, the HTML field for before the closing body
- Wix — Settings, Custom Code, Body end
- Webflow — Project Settings, Custom Code, Footer Code
- Squarespace — Settings, Advanced, Code Injection, Footer
- Plain HTML — before the closing body tag in your page file
How to be sure it works
The dashboard has an install check: enter your website address and it opens the page and looks for the code. It flags separately if someone else's key is on your site — a mistake that produces no error at all, while the requests go to another clinic.
If your webmaster installed it through Google Tag Manager the automatic check may not see it, since it's added in the browser. In that case just open your site and send a message in the chat.
Common questions
- Do I need a developer?
- Not if you can reach your site settings. It's one line pasted into the footer-code field — the exact place is documented per platform.
- Will it slow the site down?
- No. The script is about 14 kB, loads deferred after the main content and never blocks rendering.
- What if I can't edit the site?
- Send the code to whoever maintains it, along with the guide. It's a five-minute job for any webmaster.
